Chances in the Rain by Robert Scott.

Directed by Brian Ligthart.

May 09,10,11 at Park Avenue Theater, Amsterdam as part of a Variety Theater Evening with 3 other English Speaking Theater Groups.

The Story:

Sometimes even the best made plans do not end up the way anyone could have envisaged. Edward, Michelle, Sonia and Peter are hoping their lives are going to change for the better. Today should be their day, but as the rain clouds form it seems disaster has struck. As the four encounter each other in the park, all seems lost. But with misunderstandings and mistaken identities, will Edward, Peter, Sonia and Michelle have a second chance to make this day one they will remember for the right reasons?

SAM ARONSON

AS PETER.

Sam has recently performed in InPlayers' Wyrd Sisters (as the Sergeant and assorted ensemble roles).

About his character:

Peter is Very nervy.  Life doesn’t seem to go Peter’s way but he still remains the optimist.  Although he struggles at times with his speech, nothing will stop him - which is why he is the first to take a chance to make the situation better.

BENNIE IAVARONE

AS MICHELLE.

Bennie has been involved in multiple theatre productions in the past 15 years, including a few years of improv. Her latest experiences have been with English Theatre Utrecht in “Dressed for Court” and “The mysterious murder at the murder mystery”, and HEA productions “Chicago” bootcamp. She will also be part of the "Wicked" bootcamp.

About her character:

Michelle is fairly bad tempered but still with charm and attraction.  Michelle spends the majority of the play upset she has been stood up by Peter, but in the end understands that life sometimes deals you a different set of cards to what you expect and she moves on.

ALEKSA STAMENKOVIC AS EDWARD.

Aleksa has been amature acting for a couple of years. Had a main role in LET's production of the Bald Prima Donna last year. Has been in a few commercials as an extra and a side character in a student film last year. A couple of years ago he had the role of the hotel manager in Ronald Dalh's adaptation of "The Witches". In his high school year he had the role of Captain Hook in Peter Pan and Lysander in a Midsummer Nights Dream.

About his character:

Edward is a pessimist, expects things to never go his way, speaks even if no-one is listening.  At the end of the short play, Edward learns that actually sometimes a little optimism and taking a chance might just lead to an opportunity.

LUCILA CARMINATTI

AS SONIA.

Lucila has participated in plays at local level and studied Theatre in Amsterdam at Compañía de Teatro en Español and was part of the cast of The Surprise Guest.

She also presented the Odd Couple show.

About her character:

Sonia is Energetic and scatty.  Sonia is full of energy but is also the type of person who ‘things just happen to’.  She is disorganised and chaotic, but more importantly she has a good heart.
